Premiere Version 2024 is Extremely Unstable with Mac Mini m2 Pro

I've been cutting with 2023 and no issues. Thought I would chance the update for a new project and had to revert back to 2023....and partially rebuild the project due to lackluster back compatability.

 

Here's what I have going on:

  • 8TB of 4k footage imported
  • Timeline is 3 min. (!)
  • Minimal effects (basic color correction)
  • Proxies are 1920x1080 Pro Rez 422 medium quality
  • (2) Monitors
  • Media Cache on seprate drive from Project Files 
  • Drives are external RAIDs, USB-C with speeds roughly 340/MB both ways.
  • Mac Mini M2 Pro with 16GB of RAM
  • Running Ventura 13.5.2

Any suggestions on how to not want to toss a brick through one of the monitors due to laggy performance? And freezing when trying to export XML specifically with 2024?

    I have been having a similar issue. I have been freezing like crazy today with 5 sources at 1080p 60fps with 64gigs of ram, and the latest graphics cards from AMD. Its really unfortunate as I upgraded from 2023 and thought this would be more stable. Looks like I was wrong this time. I hope there are some updates that will bring stability.

    2024 just freezes.  on windows 10 with 96 ram, project launches and there's nothing that works.  the project worked 2 days ago and now it just sits there frozen.  relatively small project with three sequences and about 10 video clips in the project.
