Premiere Wants Me to Render (all of a sudden)

Hi Everyone,

basically in all of my projects Premiere wants me to render all the timelines (the timelines are all marked red). Before they were just marked red in parts, mostly in yellow. Now everything turns red in the timeline, and I can't really grasp why as I havn't changed any settings.

Does anyone possibly know what this could be? All the settings are the same as before.

Be mad if you could help.

Best,

fab

No changes to your computer or hardware? Any OS updates?

Do you have any other applications open at the same time as Premiere? Are there any new background tasks running?

Is your media the same as before?

The Red-Yellow-Green bars are a guess the Premiere makes as to how smoothly it can playback the sequence - no bar= simple media, no problem; yellow bar= more complex media or effects applied, might be able to play back smoothly; red bar= media and effects are too complex to playback smoothly; green bar= a render file exists for this portion of the sequence and so it will be very easy to play this back in real time smoothly.

If nothing else has changed, it may be that your media drives or scratch drives are filling up and consequently slowing down.

Check you Render settings in the Project settings/General in case they did change.

    Hi Ann,

after checking the Render Settings I noticed Adobe didn't recognise my GTX 1080Ti. I could only select Software Engine.

@MegTheDog the issue was down to the fact that I did the latest Windows 10 Update (stupid I know). Seems like the latest Update causes issues in regards to CUDA and Premiere Pro, and that it won't recognise the graphics card.

    Thanks for your help!

I’ve noticed this since mid-way through the year and have also noticed rendering has slowed down. Before it zipped through rendering clips or exporting a timeline, but now it’s all got a lot slower...
