Premiere won't create auto save folder or auto save

It's been like this for a few months and a few versions on my work Mac Pro. Projects are saved on a server via afp hosting a Promise Pegasus. Auto save is checked. A folder is never created for auto-saves.

Premiere Pro 12.0.1.

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

2.7 GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon E5

64 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC

AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB

Auto-save can at times be useful. Early on in my editing 'life', I reopened a project that was corrupt, went to the auto-saves, and every flipping one was corrupt! Posted on here. Got no sympathy from a couple experienced persons ... but sound advice.

Do manual Save-a-copy or iterative save-as steps every few minutes. ALWAYS allows a way back, auto-saves by design ... can't.

Set a-s for every ten minutes, and 20 copies. Edit away all morning. Close down for lunch. Come back, not a single one is usable ... why?

Because you had a bit of corruption in the project in the morning early, that was copied into all the other saves. However, you didn't do anything to trigger PrPro dumping on you during that time. So you didn't know. And ... you're screwed.

Doing the Save-a-copy and/or save-as process, you will always have ones to go back to ... in order ... with nothing overwritten.

Simple, quick, a couple times in your fingers do it in a couple seconds. And you're always safe.
