Premiere won't render the arithmetic effect

Today I used the arithmetic effect for the first time on some of my footage, but when I went to export it, the export atopped at 48% on the first pass.  I figured that it was the arithmetic effect because that had been glitching out my susyem when applying it.  To check this I tried to export just the part with the arithmetic effect and it couldn't get past 0 percent exported. Please help.
