Premire Pro 5.1 Mix Buss

I'm trying to output a 5.1 mix from a 2-Ch Stereo for a DCP. I was able to creat a 5.1 submix; and the submix is going out to the Mix bus (no Master anymore, I guess); but the Mixdown bus is still 2-ch, and I can't change it to 5.1? Nor am I sure how to change the Mix bus to 5.1? Nor have I gotten to Exporting a 5.1 either?

Correct answer PaulMurphy

The number of Mix channels in your sequence determines how many audio channels you can output and export. So if you're using a 5.1 Submix within a stereo Master track, your final output will still be limited to stereo.

As Neil recommended, to export true 5.1 audio, you'll need to move your clips to a new sequence configured with a 5.1 Mix track.

I was actually right, according to Paul, on an audio thing! Well, that brightens the day a bit!

Thanks for confirming, as with MyerPj, I always feel better on audio issues if you pop in.

I believe you need to start with a 5.1 audio track for the sequence.
