Premire Pro crash when rendering previews

Hi,

This has been going on for a while. My PP crashes (or gets stuck and sometimes requires me to restart the PC) when rendering previews. I tried everything I knew without results.

1. I completely (and I mean completely including dealing with old registry files and manually removing folders) removed and re-installed Adobe Creative Cloud (although it still has issues - loads super slow and needs to relaunch and only in with administrator privileges).

2. I Tried different file files, formats/codecs I don't think it has anything to do with that since it worked before with the same files from the same drive.
3. cleared cache (full).
4. Tried software rendering - still crashes.

5. I have a crash report for PP (you can't attach this format - kind of silly - but I put it on dropbox):

Maybe this will help you help me.

It used to work fine but at some point something broke and I am not sure what. I know I need to re-install Windows and I will be doing that but that is a big project (lots of software, settings, etc. and I am in the middle of projects that I need to finish editing).

My system:
Latest PP.

Win 10 (fully updated).
Intel 13900K
MSI Z790 Ace (fully updated drivers)
All SSDs (Samsung 990/WD 850X)
96GB Ram
GTX 4070 (latest Studio drivers clean install)

Ig

That is some persistent problem you are having. Do you have any utilities running. GPU software, fan controls, head-up display, frame info, like to see how many frames you're getting in a game. Things you may have running that you could turn off, to try different things.

This happens even when I just turn the PC on and open only PP so it's unrelated to other programs (at least as far as I can tell although it's hard to know as some stuff always runs in the background I guess).

It is important to understand that PP ran just fine until several weeks ago on the same PC which didn't undergo any hardware changes as far as I can tell - this is why I suspect it software not hardware (as I said I ran memtest86 and intel processor diagnostic tool - both came green and the problem seems to happen even when I use software decoding).

How long is the project and do you have plenty of space on your various hard-drives/ssds?

It's not happening with any particular project it is happening with anything that I try - old/new, short long - it seems to be related mostly to rendering previews (although possibly to other things as well).

I have enough space.

Did you look at the sequence settings?

Click on the sequence on the timeline, then use the Sequence menu up top and select Sequence Settings:

Hi - thanks - sorry I forgot where it was (I don't play with those settings much).

I changed it from something else tho what you have and it still crashed after rendering the previews for a min or two.

What are your preview settings in the sequence. What format? Are you using the default ProRes?

Where do I find those?

I am not using prores (But I was not using prores before and all worked out fine so something just broke at some point).
