Question

pro rez raw color management

I recently began shooting pro rez raw from Lumix s5II to Atomos Ninja V.

I am trying to understand the workflow for color correction and grading.

Working on mac Studio.

Under project settings/color I have checked Auto Detect Log Video Settings Checked.

Under sequnce settings I have selected color space rec 709 and auto tone map media.

Under Lumetrie settings Auto detect log Video Color Space is checked.

The question I have is that the next twirl down is source clip... Use media color space is grayed out and text shows that media color space is "Not color managed"

colors come out as if a red lut is applied.

If I uncheck auto detect Log Video Color Space, and instead go to source/effect controls and choose pro rez raw settings and then v/log gamut, then the conversion lut for raw and 709 lut undercreative, colors look correct, however each clip has to be done individually.

My question is, can a full bin of clips or sequence have color space assigned at one time, instead of having to one clip at a time?

I've done some Red. Not a lot. I can't recall if you can select the clips in a bin, go to the Source tab on the Effects Control Panel, and set them all at the same time. Definitely try that, at least.

I do know when using BRAW, with the Autokroma plugin, allows for presets. So it can be quickly applied.

Need to test this I think.

The output from the files is really good, but the workflow is wonky.  Too many places to screw it up.

I don't see a way to change more than one clip at a time on the source tab.

Am I missing something in the setup that does auto detect?  I think it did when using vlog from in camera.  I will have to look to see if it does auto detect from non raw footage on Ninja V recording.

The auto detect works only with log files. Can't help with RAW media.
