Problem rendering After Effects composition in Premiere Pro

Hi,

Pretty stupid question but Im just trying to narrow down my issue.

Question is: Does one need to render in AE prior to rendering (or exporting) the complete timeline of a PP project when using Dynamic link?

I never have before & never had a problem.

When I go to render or export in PP on this project I get a render error Error compiling movie. Accelerated Render Error. Ive changed renderer to software only but that did nothing. Ive narrowed the issue down to a specific AE composition that I have used a third party (free) preset. (other AE compositions are in the project & render fine)

Version I'm using is CC2017

Any other tips to try would be gratefully appreciated/
