Problem to digitize with a mini-DV camera

Hi,

I would like to digitize images with a mini-dv camera. It is plugged into thunderbolt on my Imac.

I can control the camera in playback from Première Pro but I have no image or sound feedback and an 'Acquisition hardware offline" message. What can I do please ?

Thanks.

Hello, here is the help page on the topic, in case a setting was wrong in your setup: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/capturing-digitizing.html

Thanks for your comments.

I chose the option Imovie to digitize and it works. I didn't understand the problem with Premiere Pro.

I took time to understand how to export in 720*576 since Imovie but it's Ok.

Thank you all and have a good day.

Watch it on the camera?

I haven't captured from a mini-DV camera in about 6 or 7 years, and even then it was using Firewire. I think we'll need more info about your setup in order to help. What camera model? And how are you plugging it into Thunderbolt? I'd eat my hat if there was a mini-DV camera with a thunderbolt connection on it.

Yes, the archives have between 15 and 20 years old. The camera is a Panasonic NV-GS120 and it's connected by an adaptator Firewire 800 / Thunderbolt. So you can keep your hat safe ! 😊
