Problem with AUDIO on Premiere Pro 2026: help needed :)

I started yesterday to work on Premiere Pro 2026 and have been experiencing the following issue: when editing with headphones, the audio track on channels 1 and 2 come out only from my left headphone, and channels 3 and forward are muted even if the “M” button is obviously off. Without headphones the problem doesn’t exist.

I have already checked the settings on “Audio Channels”  and it is set to Stereo L+R, so the issue really doesn’t make sense.
I am not experiencing this issue on the 2025 version or on the Beta version, while using the same settings.

Applying audio effects such as Fill also doesn’t work - and even if it did it would be highly impractical to apply an effect to each audio track for this purpose.

I have also checked with colleagues and compared settings - mine seems to be an isolated case.

Is there anyone who could help me fixing this? It is really a drag.

Thank you!

Hey! I’ve had this issue in 26 where the audio tracks seem automatically set to left and right rather than being in the centre by default. Really frustrating, but for me I found panners seem to be just set that way, so you can adjust them manually back to 0 in the audio track mixer section.
I’ve also found that selecting a clip and choosing “create sequence from clip” didn’t have the same issue!

Hey mate, this is a bug in version 26. I also edit with headphones and had this problem. If version 26 doesn't make much sense to you, go back to version 25.5. Despite some bugs, it's more stable. I've already posted about problems with the audio channels here on the forum; the Adobe team is evaluating them to make the necessary corrections.

Have you given 26 another try? I’ve just tried again today and the bug is disappeared.

Yes, my friend, this bug sometimes disappears, but it comes back if you keep opening and closing the project.

Could we have a screen shot of your sequence audio settings, your audio hardware settings and your Audio track mixer.

I re-opened it just now and, quite incredibly, the problem solved itself.
I have used the Beta version for one day to avoid it, and maybe the 2026 got jealous.
