Problem with Closed Captions being stretched beyond the video (Premiere Pro 14.9, and earlier)

Hey i'm having a weird problem when i apply either 608 or 708 closed captions, they are larger than the video space. don't know how to fix it. anybody come across this or know what i need to do?

That looks like you have the caption stream set to the wrong pixel size. First try right click, modify, caption, and change the pixel size to be the same as the sequence. You can also control this on import if you are importing the caption streams.

 

If that does not fix it, let us know more about you video asset/sequence size and whether you are importing the caption streams.

thank you this was all very helpful and it was a sizing problem!

As far as a fix you may be able to go into the captions window/selected each caption/and change the sizing with the character controls. if all of the captions are selected example caption 1/caption 2 etc they should all change at the same time when you do the adjustment.
