Problem with premiere pro 23.4.0 and mac OS big sur 11.7.8

I have an intel macbook pro with 32 GB of ram (2.3 GHz 8-core intel Core i9)

I am editing with Adobe premiere pro 23.4.0 and it is verrry slow. every time I move the cursor in the timeline or in any window it slows down and starts spinning. is there something I can do to fix this?
