Problems Rendering H265 Hardware vs Software encode

Hey guys,

I'm just summoning the collective intelligence of this sub to see if you could help me figure out a problem I've been having with renders at my studio.

I work for a production studio and we render probably around 500 videos a week, our codec is set to H265 HD  18Mbps (If someone is curious bitrate is set to this number mainly because we tend to use our videos for compilations purposes as well, and sometimes due to reusability the quality degradation is just too much.

Anyway, I think after AME22 or 23 we noticed that all the exports done through hardware on our Macs were super hard to playback, things would get super lagged, and it was impossible to do checks, so we decided to test software encoding proving to be much faster, but sadly we noticed the quality of the videos was affected, there is this glitchy effect surrounding graphics and hosts, it's really annoying.

I thought well, maybe this is the Mac, but this reflects as well if we try it on the PC...

Now, that said,if I export videos on our PCs the hardware encoding is quite gentle and I can preview the videos on mac, but that's not the same case for AME in mac, the preview is impossible.

With the high amount of videos we have and having 7 computers rendering full time (some pc, some mac) I need all the power I can get.

Did anyone encounter this particular situation with playback videos on videos render on mac?

any feedback or tip can be helpful!

thanks
