Question

Problems rendering timeline containing mxf files?

Video (see profile below) has been captured with a Sony PXW-X70 camcorder and imported into PrPRo CC. I create a new sequence from clip and PrPro makes a timeline using the ARRI Cinema setting. When I attempt to render the finished product (usually anywhere from 5 minutes to over two hours), there are frequently reports that one or more mxf clips have not been readable and the render fails.

Four questions: 1) Why is PrPro automatically importing the clips into a project with the ARRI setting? What is the optimum setting for a timeline containing mxf files? Is it necessary to transcode mxf files on ingest? If so, what's the best setting?

Did you copy entire card to hdd and then ingest via Media Browser?

How come the file is 1h23m.

Does not the camera makes smaller files?

The arri setting is just a preset.

Drag clip to New Item icon to create sequence that matches the clips.

No need to transcode if you machine can handle the footage: if not Cineform is a good choice for proxy.

Yes. Imported all files from the card.
