Productions: Copying sequences to other projects brings all the reference sequences with it

I want to share sequences with another editor and my worklflow is usually copying into another project we use to share sequences, but I am having a new issue where this is now bringing in all the reference sequences along with the sequence I want to share, crowding the destination project, and attempting to delete these gives the message: ' The selection you are deleting contains clip references in one one or more sequence...etc'  This is happening whether I copy paste or duplicate and move the sequence. The clips are pulled from various master multicam sequences which all live within thier own separate projects. We are using productions 23.2. What has gone wrong here?

have you used any nests in your sequence.  I think that may be the source of your problem.    If you used a sequence as a source and have "insert and overwrite sequences as nests" enabled in the timeline, Premiere will do this automatically...

Nothing is nested, but I am thinking someone else pulling clips maybe had this toggled when bringing in Multicammed clips.. thank you! Ill investigate
