Program crashes after importing a youtube video

Hi,

I just imported a downloaded youtube video (1,5 hour long) into my timeline on premiere pro cc 2018, before the program crashed. When I opened the program again it was a copy of the original project and I could start where I finished. But the original project had lost over two hours of editing.

Can I just finish editing on the copy and forget about the original? will that be the same in quality etc?
