Program stretch out clips

Hi! When I'm adding media to premiere the program automatically stretch out the clip, and not the audio. Therefore the sound stops some second before the clip. The audio is correct, but the video is slow downed. I've had this problem for a long time, but not in the beginning with premiere. Is there anything in the preferences I can change or something? Have an old version, premiere 12.

Thankful for help!

Try this:

- Right clic in clip in Project panel.
- Go to Modify / Interpret Footage...
- Set the framerate you need, for example mine is 29,97 fps (Ecuador, Latin America). See screen capture.

It is possible that you clip is on Variable Frame Rate or it has a double framerate like 59,94 fps. Be sure of that and set the correct fps.
