Basically I want to overwrite the orignal file locations instead of COPYING all the files to a new location (ie. a seperate drive). I have some files on my desktop and some on an ssd, i want all the files to be on the ssd i'm already using, in a neat folder that i can hand to a colleague with no issues, in one click, if thats possible.

Here’s how you can copy some of your files without copying all of them:

  1. Go to File > New > Search Bin.
  2. In the Search Bin, set the Search field to File Path and enter your desktop path in the Find field.
  3. Select all the clips from the search bin and add them to a new sequence.
  4. Select the sequence and choose File > Project Manager.
  5. Under Sequence, ensure only the new sequence is ticked.
  6. Tick Collect and Copy to New Location and set the Destination Path to your SSD.
  7. Delete the files on your desktop or move them to another folder.
  8. The next time you open your project, you'll be prompted to relink the missing media—point it to the SSD.
