Project Metadata Display and Proxies problem...please fix with future update.
Hi,
I'm working between 2 systems. 1, my main computer and 2, my laptop to watch and review proxies while on the road. The Proxies are great, small, easy to play files that I can load onto my laptop, but to watch the original size production footage I need to hook up an external drive. Being able to use Proxies without the original production footage is a huge help!
My problem lies with the Metadata Display(see photos). When loading only the Proxy files on my laptop, the Descriptions column data is there, but the Rating and Category column info has disappeared. After a very lengthly chat with Adobe customer support, they informed me that the Rating and Category column metadata is found within the Production footage and not the Proxy files. What? Since we are entering this info inside the Premiere Project file, shouldn't it also be stored in the Premiere Project file along with the Description info? It seems weird that some of the Metadata display columns from Premiere is kept in the project file but some is in the original video files? Is there a reason behind this? Especially since this data is created in Premiere and not in the camera. Also can this be fixed in a future update so that all of the Premiere metadata column information is stored within the project and not some of it and then some of it in the original video files?
