Question

Project panel bins no longer open in separate panels and instead replace the current view with a back arrow—how do I restore the old behavior?

I’m using Premiere Pro 26.0.2 and I’m running into a workflow issue with the Project panel.

In previous versions, when I clicked or opened a bin (folder), it would open in a separate panel/tab, allowing me to have multiple bins open at once (for example: 24fps footage, 60fps footage, audio, titles, etc.).

Now, when I click a bin, it replaces the current view in the same Project panel and shows a back arrow at the top. I can no longer have multiple bins open simultaneously in separate panels the way I used to.

Also, when I right-click a bin, there is no “Open in New Panel” option available.

This is a major workflow slowdown for organizing and accessing multiple bins at once.

Any help would be appreciated.

In the Preferences there is a setting on how you want to open your bins.

    Preferences > General.
