Project Panel Search Not Returning Results for Known Items

I’ve been running into an issue with the search bar at the top of the Project Panel.

At times, I’ll enter a word that I know exists in the project (in a sequence name, clip name, or metadata), and Premiere returns no results. However, if I manually navigate through the bins, I can clearly find the item.

This isn’t a one-off….it happens intermittently and makes the search function feel unreliable.

Is this a known bug, or is there something about how the Project Panel search works that I might be missing?

Sorry, I didn’t realize this was Pr v24.x, the Sequence Search feature is new to 26.x. Is there a reason you are sticking with the v24?

Hi @Jeena22389650a1ho , you can also try the new ‘Search’ feature. It’s available from the Window menu (Search) or click the magnifying glass on the upper right of Pr.

Hi @Jeena22389650a1ho - Can you try the following:

    • Close Premiere Pro
    • Locate Documents > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 26.0 > Profile-username
      • metadatacache.prmdc2
      • metadatacache.prmdc2-shm
      • metadatacache.prmd2-wal
    • Delete these files
    • Relaunch Premiere Pro, the files should repopulate.

thank you for your response. I have tried that, and it does not fix the bug. The files still do not show up in search.

Hi @Jeena22389650a1ho - Have you tried using the Search panel?

If you create a new project and import your sequence to the new project do you still have the same issue?
