I was unable to find any discussion about this and this has become a point of contention at my office: How is the word "Lumetri" pronounced? Is there any official Adobe pronunciation?

I've heard the following

Loo-met-tree

Loo-ma-tree

Loom-tree

LUM-et-tree

Number 1 - Loo-met-tree is the correct answer. The other three are gross misunderstandings of the English & French language

    And realistically, is it ... a word ... an effect ... an ... experience ... or, a new dimension perhaps ... or ... a zone ...

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present for your consideration ...

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call ...

      ... The Adobe Zone.

I've heard Adobe staff say it two ways in the videos.

    1. LOO-mə-tree

    2. loo-MET-tree

    I favor number 2 myself.

    Perzactly.

And The Guy In Charge ... laughs at queries about it.

Although I typically find myself saying your number one, personally. Just a habit though.

Loo-meh-tree or Loo-me-tri ... same thing. "Oo" as in 'moon', "eh" as in Fred ... Americanized Fred, I should say ... and "ee" or "i" ... as in the European sound.

    It's the accented syllable that gets no agreement ... LU-metri ... or is it lu-ME-tri  ... ?

Go to NAB, sit through the Adobe booth programs. Jason Levine (main "Evangelist") will say it one way, the next Adobe-staffer up the other. I asked Patrick Palmer, now head of Digital Editing (PrPro) ... he just played off the old 30's song, "You say tomaeto, I say tomahto .. " ... by saying "you say luMEtri, he says LUmetri ... " and laughed.

But which IS it, I pestered him ... and he just kept laughing.
