Proxies won't attach (and constantly detach on projects)

I hope someone can help me because I am losing my patience with making proxies.

I made proxies for a project I am working on last night. This morning they have all been detached. When I go to attach them, it can't find the proxies in the SSD, but not only that, it is trying to attach files with completely different names to the original file, and also when I try and attach them, it only does so one at a time anyway (it won't batch attach). 

I have constant problems with Proxies, as I make them, they usually work for a day or two, then detach and I can never attach themn again...

What is going on please? And how can I attach them again?
