Question

proxy media and full resolution media must have matching audio channels

Hopefully there is a workaround to the following situation:

In using proxy files for a jvc ls300, the following error came up when trying to "Proxy>Reconnect Full Resolution Media":

- "proxy media and full resolution media must have matching audio channels"

Unfortunately, as with all encountered errors, I was not aware that dual mono vs. stereo audio would be an issue. Especially, given all my edits (many) are finished. Now I'm trying to reconnect full 4k videos so I can remove proxies to reduce size for archive.

- Full Rez 4k footage has mono 2 channel (referenced in the accompanying xml file next to the video.

- Premiere only shows mono channel.

- Proxy file (1024 x 540) has 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo.

HOW can I workaround this issue and Re Attache (reattach) the full resolution files?

Any workarounds are much appreciated, without having to scrap the whole project and start completely over.

Thank you.

Wally

A possible workaround that worked for me...

I had this same issue– proxy media with 2 channels of audio and raw media with 5 channels.

I exported an XML of my proxy premiere sequence ( as well as a reference picture! ), imported the XML into resolve with only the desired media (in my case the raw) in the media pool and force reconnected. I checked against the reference picture, then Exported XML out of resolve and reimported back into premiere.
