Proxy presets are ignored Premiere Pro 2024

So, I finally made the jump to Premiere Pro 2024 (Version 24.2.1) and creating Proxies is driving me crazy right now.

When I want to create proxies and select the preset I'd like to use, Media Encoder ignores basically every setting possible. I set the custom frame size to 1280x720? It renders 1920x1080.
The preset I created for me is based on Cineform, Quality 1, 1280x720. Media Encoder gives me a proxy in full resolution (3840x2160), the original video file is around 13 GB, the proxy still has around 7.5 GB.

Whatever I try to use as settings for the proxies, they are ignored and it renders whatever it feels like.

I thought presets are made so I don't have to apply the settings to each file individually. My projects are not huge, but it's around 100-150 files anyways.

Mathias

Are you sure you're looking at the Proxy file and not the original media?

If you want to send an .epr file you can post it to a filesharing service like Dropbox or even in your Adobe CC cloud storage and send us a link.

I'm looking at the filesize in the properties (File Explorer) and check the information in VLC.

How are you checking the size of the proxy files?

Hi John,

thanks for your reply. This might sound like a stupid question, but how do I attach an EPR file here? It seems only media files can be attached 😅 I'll gladly provide my preset as soon as I find out how (WeTransfer link maybe?)

Besides: the pre-defined proxy formats inside Premiere are behaving weird as well, since it seems to ignore the custom frame size.

Hey Mathias,
Any chance you could post your preset file (.epr)? We could place it on our systems and see if we get the same results. It should be in  /Users/(name)/Documents/Adobe/Adobe Media Encoder/24.0/Presets
