Question about nested clips...

Nested clips have saved me! I love them. i have 2 questions about them:
1-do they affect Premiere performance? my Premiere seems to be jamming up on the CPU usage with this project, when i've suddenly used nested clips that go 3-5 levels deep in places (it's necessary).

2-When i'm on the top-level clip, if I move down to the lower level clips and move the time marker around, it doesn't appear to be reflected when i go back up to a higher level. is there a way to get this to be reflected at a higher level?

thanks!

01. yes too many nests especially when effects, keyframing and plugins are used affect performance.

02. playhead position reflect from parent nests to nested clips on the timeline, but if you want the reverse,

to reflect the playhead position from the child clip to its nest, there is a workaround, use timeline markers

not clip markers. timeline markers will appear on the nested sequence and you can snap the playhead to

      its location.

if you want that feature enabled, submit your request at the user voice and we will vote:

Adobe video & audio apps

hope this helps

1. You can nest A into B without performance issues, but should stop there.  If you nest B into C, things go weird.

2. Huh?

I will definitely request that! I am working with 3-4 level nested clips, and keeping the timeline right is VERY difficult right now. My audio is at the top level, so i have to go to where i want things to happen with the audio, then go down 3 levels and then back up to the top to make sure the keyframes are correct. is this right? maybe there's a better way? thanks!

If I have to nest quite a few levels I export this nest to an intermediate file and put that in the timeline either instead or on top.
