Question with exporting for TV

Hey everyone,

I need to export the following files. Though I was wondering how I define MPEG2 I-frame only @30Mbps / the DV @100Mbps when exporting a MXFOP1a file. Could you help me with that?

SD file standard:

 Wrapper: MXFOP1a

 Stream 0: IMX30 video defined as 720x608i/25 Top-Field-First MPEG2 I-frame only @30Mbps, 16:9 aspect ratio

  • 4 channels of 16 bit little-endian 48,000Hz PCM

HD file standard:

 Wrapper: MXFOP1a

 Stream 0: Video "DVCProHD" 1440x1080i/25 Top-Field-First DV @100Mbps

 Stream 1: (Left) 1 Channel of 16 bit little-endian 48,000Hz PCM

 Stream 2: (Right) 1 Channel of 16 bit little-endian 48,000Hz PCM

 Stream 3: (M&E or dialogue) 1 Channel of 16 bit little-endian 48,000Hz PCM

 Stream 4: (M&E or dialogue)

Try this:

When you export from Premiere (or via Media Encoder), you can choose MXFOP1a and under "Format" ignore the "Preset" option and scroll down to the Video section and under Video Codec you choose from a list of codecs. DVCProHD is in there but not MPEG-2; I suspect that SD option is really DV25. It doesn't appear that you can dial in the bitrate settings but those may not matter; I would dial it in at close as possible to the specs and run them by the people you're delivering to and see if they fly.

HTH,
