Question

Random loud screeching sound in Premiere Pro [MacOS]

Seemingly at random while editing, premiere will start blaring a deaphening horn-like sound making me quite litearlly jump out of my seat. Anyone else experience this bug?

It seems to pick only one audio clip to glitch out on, as I can scrub back in the timeline and the rest of the audio plays normally until I reach the same clip again. I'm editing on a 2019 8-core Macbook Pro.

The bug seems to fix itself after I restart Premiere, but I'm still not too crazy about the thought of potentially blowing out my speakers and my now constant fear of being jumpscared by premiere.

Hi there!

Welcome to the community. I understand that there is an audio glitch while playing the sequence. Am I right?

  • What kind of media files are you working on?
  • Is the audio file is camera- captured or recorded with the microphone?

You may try to delete media cache: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-clean-delete-or-trash-media-cache-files/td-p/8324672

Let us know if it helps.

Thank you,

Kartika

Thanks for the response!

The files I'm working off of are audio recorded internally on the BMPCC 4k. It's definitly a timeline error, as the audio playback on my computer is normal.

Ill try deleting the media cache tonight.
