After cutting up an audio clip into a bunch of smaller audio clips...

a. ...is there a way to... store those smaller clips in an organized bin within the project window, instead of having them take up space on the timeline?

I'd like the ability to just drag them from their assorted bins in the project window onto the timeline when I'm ready for them.

b. ...is there a way to... Label all the smaller clips something different than the clipname they originated from?

*I know you can change the clip name In premiere Pro to somehting different from its original source file, but if you chop it up on the timeline into 30 smaller clips, can you name or number each of the smaller clips?

Adding to Paul, You can also try the Project Management feature wiht Automation Blocks,

specifically Label Color and Rename Items and check if that helps.

a) If you drag the smaller clips from the timeline into the Project panel, it will create subclips.

b) Rename these subclips in the Project panel to give them a different name from the original clip.

The only issue I'm having is if I chop up a clip into, let's say 5 subclips and then drag them into the project panel, by default they automatically have the same name as the source file (as they should) but is there a way that the system can automatically number them when I drag them over?

for example...
1. If I chop up Narrator_scene01.wav into 5 subclips and drag them into the project file. it will look like this...
Narrator_scene01.wav
Narrator_scene01.wav

Narrator_scene01.wav

But is there a way to automatically have it look like this?

Narrator_scene01-1.wav

Narrator_scene01-2.wav

Narrator_scene01-3.wav

Narrator_scene01-4.wav

Narrator_scene01-5.wav

Alternatively is there a way I can select a bulk amount of files from in the project panel and relabel them
at the same time in numerical order?

I would suggest, rather than creating subclips in the timeline, try doing it in the Source panel instead.

Set an in/out point and then press Ctrl/Cmd + U.

This will create a subclip with the name of the original clip and a 3-digit number at the end that automatically increments with each subclip.

If you prefer doing this in the Timeline, you can select each clip you want to make a subclip and then press F to Match Frame your clip in the Source, and then press Ctrl/Cmd + U to create a subclip.
