Read Only Effects

Hello,

I am trying to use transitions from Adobe on Premiere Pro. I find what I'm looking for, download it, open the zip file and put it on my project drive but whenever I try to edit the special effect the files say it is "read only" and won't let me change anything. What am I doing wrong?

Instead of opening the project file that contains the transitions directly, try this workflow:

1. Create a new Premiere Pro project.
2. Go to File > Import and select the unzipped project file that includes the transitions.

This method will allow you to import the assets and sequences from the downloaded project without encountering the "read-only" issue, since you’ll be working within your own editable project.

Hi watchLA,

Please let us know if you are using an effect/transition or if it's a project template. If possible, please share a screen recording of your workflow. It will help us understand the issue properly.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Hi Sumeet,

I downloaded the file from Adobe Stock=> Templates=> Premiere Pro (Horizontal).

Top left shows the full title of the sequence under edit media that says "Read Only" which prevents me from adding the footage I want to use in the template.
