Relinking After Effects files

I had to move some of my media onto an external drive, and the after effects compositions using these files are coming up as colour bars in my PP timeline. After clicking Edit Original and going to AE, I've relinked the source footage (using Replace Footage) and it all seems to be showing up fine in AE, but when I go to PP it's not updating to show the footage. Is there something else I have to do or something I'm missing? Help!!!

As a workaround render your AE comp out as a Cineform codec with a quality setting of at least 3 and then import that file into Premiere. Not sure why your original issue is occurring though.

My PP keeps crashing too, I don't know if that has to do with these files or the latest update??
