Relinking media to previous path, after user requested offlining
Hello all,
I had to take a project on the road to tweak it on my laptop.
When loading the project for the first time on the road, of course it complained about a bunch of media missing from my production drives at the office.
Expected and perfectly fine for my needs on the road, so I clicked Offline and proceeded to use the title and subtitle files I needed from a particular timeline.
When I got back to the office, I imagined Premiere Pro would have a way of automatically relinking to the previous path the offlined media pointed to.
When you inspect the properties of a User Requested offline clip, it displays a history of paths the clip used to point to on disk. Surely this history is maintained for just such a purpose?
But I could find no way of telling Premiere to simply relink to the most recent path in that history.
Am I missing something? Is this by design? Or was the usefulness actually overlooked?
I've found a work around for my particular situation - a messy merging of the work I did to the project while on the road, with the last correctly linked project in the office. But it is only sheer luck that this is even workable for me, and I can imagine many scenarios where it would not be.
Thank you for your time!
