Relinking with the use of Metadata

Is there a way to relink files in Premiere by using only Metadata and not filename? In the Link Media Window there is an option where you can check either Scene, Description, Log Note, or Shot. I tried adding rendering in AE and added these metadata. I am using a different filename because it's a revised version. Is it possible for Premiere to link to the new files by using the  Scene, Description, Log Note, or Shot metadata? Thanks.
