Remove Attributes Reverts Audio Gain?

I recorded a music recital where audio levels were hovering between -18 to -12 dB. Following the advice of several YouTube filmmakers, I tried to get the levels as close to 0 dB without clipping. My technique was to add a hard limiter at -0.50 dB. Normalize all peaks to -1 dB. Then add additional audio gain, typically another 6 dB.

Recently a sound designer friend offered to help finesse my sound, so I want to provide him with the raw camera audio. I selected the A1 track in a multi-cam sequence, removed attributes including Volume, Channel Volume, Panner, and Hard Limiter Effect. What I've noticed though, is that the gain is still high, hitting the red zone. Does Remove Attributes not affect audio gain? Or is this some kind of bug?

Please advise. Thank you.

Nope not a bug. Audio gain is not part of the audio effects.

Select all clips in the timeline > audio gain > set to 0.
