How do I remove background music from a video with dialogue? I just want the video with the dialogue without the music playing. Is there a way to separate the audio track so it shows music and dialogue separately?

    Correct answer avpromedia

Adobe does not have stem separation feature but there are third parties VST plugins which presumably works in audition and premiere. There are even web sites that does this for free. But this technology is not perfect. You may get pieces of music stuck in the dialog.

I was rather disappointed in the ability of Premiere Pro to remove background music while leaving the speech intact.  I have used Cyberlink Power Director for some time and found that its Speech Enhancement tool does an excellent job of removing background music.  There is almost no residual noise or background music after applying this tool.  Unfortunately, at this time it appears that if I want to edit my footage in Premiere Pro, after I have completed that editing I will have to move back over to Cybelink Power Director to clean up the speech track.

there are dj apps that will do such a task you have to render the audio track isolate the vocals.

To a degree only but I have never heard vocals cleanly extracted once they are mixed and output as a file

Hi Collin. Unfortunately removing vocals from a track is not as simple as it may sound. In fact its near impossible without having he separate track files. However with some clear eq tweaking you could isolate and boost the vocal frequencies and take down the music. The problem is in the overlap. A lot of the vocals of and the music share frequencies and its at these points that you will inevitably hear the music play. There are tons of 3rd party vendors who offer software to try and emulate this process but in all my years of experience I have never seen a single one that ,manages it flawlessly.

Using an EQ effect. Maybe Parametric EQ, and try lifting and adjusting one or more frequency bands.

If the music and the dialogue are already on separate tracks as they're brought into PrPro, that's easy.

If they're part of one recording ... a single track essentially ...  that's a real problem. There's nothing within PrPro to auto-magically sort the music from the wanted dialogue,

Is  it possible to do on here?
I'm new to Premiere Pro but it looks like there are 2 parts to the Audio part?

If so how would i separate the music part?
