Question

Removing pauses is highly inconsistent

Transcribed sources are inconsistent in newer versions than 26.0, and pause detection isn’t as “tight” as in 26.0

I demonstrate pause detection and source transcribed in 26.0:

I’ve now updated to version 26.2.2 and is demonstrating the same pause detection and removal process, using the transcribed version from 26.0:

In order to have the -same- video transcribed using 26.2.2, I’ve duplicated the source media with a different name, and it seems like the transcribed source is handled very different than in 26.0
I also layer 26.2.2 transcribe above 26.0 source - so v1 and a1 is version 26.0, and v2 and a2 is version 26.2.2

When comparing the two versions, all versions after 26.0 is demonstrating inconsistencies in how they detect pauses when transcribing..

    @Daniel Lange,

    I only found a transcript from PR 25.6.3 that I could import, but repeated your test. I am also Win 11 on 26.2.2.

    I also see differences. The 26.2.2 version skipped some pauses shown as 0.3 in length, whether I used .13 or .01 as the minimum.

    My belief is that the transcription does not use the minimum setting; you can change it after the fact.

    There were transcription updates in 26.2.0.

    It seems like it doesn’t seem to matter if I use 0.03 or 0.01, it will not give you a tight output as 26.0 does. Which makes streamlining stuff harder..

    Before I could remove pauses, and do minor adjustments to all cuts - and it would overall be pretty consistent and ready. Now, I can’t use the same workflow as it sometimes keeps several more frames and or cuts away some frames, and or cuts into spoken words...
