Render In to Out working, but render selection isn't

I started having a strange issue today - Under Sequence, when I try to Render Selection it doesn't seem to render, but only starts playing the selection (the clip status is still showing as yellow). However, when I Render In to Out it seems to render. Any ideas on why this is happening or how I can fix it.

If you want to use Render Selection the render bar needs to be red.

Render in to out will render yellow to green.

Welcome to the community! When you see a yellow render bar, it indicates a portion of the timeline that hasn’t been rendered but should still play smoothly in real time and at full frame rate. Are you noticing any frame drops while playing an unrendered yellow bar section? You can check this by enabling Show Dropped Frame Indicator in Program monitor under the Wrench icon menu.
