Rendering & creation of video previews

Dear all

There is a lens smudge on one of the cameras so I have used the Dust & Scratch effect, but when I come to render, the video preview files take up a lot of space, and it takes a lot of time to render.

When I look at the community threads, people say it is safe to delete the video preview files, but I shared the project with a colleage, and she was given a 'files missing' message as I had not sent her the previews... when I sent her the previews the problem was solved.

I don''t like having 38GB clogging up my hard drive, or on a disk, as it is a 40 minute video.  The video preview settings are QuickTime and Apple ProRes422 LT. The final use is online. And I work on a Mac.

Any ideas?

Thank you

You dont need to send the previews. Your college can make her own previews, just ignore the missing preview files.

Thank you Ann!

So does that mean that I can delete the video previews at any time, as I myself would not need them to carry on working on my project?  So, kind of, once they're made, they've done their job, so they are not needed?

You can delete preview files at any time, you can make preview files at any time if needed.
