Rendering issues: unwanted red double exposure throughout sequence

I have a 2min sequence with 46 media clips and a PNG transparent logo overlay in the beginning. The playback is is working as it should be but once I go to render the sequence timeline, I get this strange red double expsoure throughout the entire sequence. What is causing the issue and how what steps can I take to solve.
