Replace Footage Audio Error?

I use the "replace footage" often for audio tracks. It usually works quite well!

I have two stereo wav files: an original and an updated version. When I try the "replace footage" this time, it imports with only the left channel with audio and the right is muted. Why?

MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1
