Replace transciption

I created a 40 minute video which required hours of editing from the auto transcription by PP.

I have now edited the same video down to 30 minutes within the same project by duplicating the 40 minute version to create a new sequence and editing it down to 30 mins.  I created an auto transcription from the new shorter sequence.

I exported that transcription as an .srt file, changed the extension to .txt and corrected all of the errors in the auto version.  It seems that I can't delete the auto transcription.  The only Import option is for a static upload.  .srt isn't available as an import option.  What is the extension for a static upload?

Have I gone about this the right way?

I'm not sure what that means.  Auto-transcription usually refers to a source media transcription. If you are in Sequence view, and go to the 3 dot menu, you only have static transcription as an option.

You can't export a transcription as srt. You export captions as srt. Did you create captions in that edited sequence and export that?

What is your goal? A transcription of the final sequence? Or captions?

sorry about the confusion between captions and transcriptions.  I think I have it sorted now.
