Replace with clip from bin changes content of bin?

I am working with the latest version of Premiere Pro

When I use the replace with clip from bin command on my timeline I've noticed sometimes PP changes the content of the bin as well? Is there a setting to stop this happening?

Just tested it: bin stays the same.

Might want to reset preferences.
