Replacing footage with graded versions

Hello,

I exported XML from Premiere to DaVinci. After having done colour grading(I was using original footage) in DaVinci I needed to replace old footage with coloured versions. From DaVinci I exported coloured clips with the same name and media start and with checkbox "Export Audio" on. I made all media from sequence offline and tried to relink it with graded versions but failed - premiere just couldn't find graded versions. Media start, name and number of audio channels are identical.

What should I do?

you know.. these programs aren't inherently LINKED together .. like if you do something in AE linked to PPro or stuff like that.... they are all basically different programs...

ummmm, If I get this right you did something to edit in PPro.

Then you took an XML file from PPro to resolve, and somehow THAT got put into resolve … and you did adjustments to color.

After THAT you exported a totally NEW video ???? And you can't find it to open it in PPro ???

After THAT I've exported 90 individual colour graded clips from DaVinci so that I could replaced the ungraded in premiere and put some FX and text after that.

And of course I can't do it manually, because there are a lot of cuts:

Did you use the Locate button to try to manually navigate to the clips?

Did you uncheck the box for File Extension (under match file properties)?

Are you attempting to re-link the media in the Sequence?

Also, is your sequence edited with proxies? According to the information you provided, your proxies don't match the source material - they only have one mono audio track while the original has 4.

Did you create the proxies in Premiere during the ingest?

I have never done a round trip from PPro via EDL or XML to resolve, except once, and there were problems I had because PPro had transitions and psd files that resolve hated. That was a long time ago just to test how the process would work.

There are a lot of sources on internet to read about how to do that round trip... edit in PPro,, go to resolve for color stuff, send back to PPro. Some of what you said doesn't make a lot of sense... like, you don't 'export' from resolve, you 'save' the XML or EDL and then open THAT in Ppro.. I think.. I kinda don't remember ...

???? Focus more on explaining what you DID and want to do, and please resist all the data stuff at this point.. so people get the general idea at what stage you were at when you started your round trip, and how you tried to get back..

I didn't exported XML or EDL from DaVinci to Premiere. I exported colour graded clips to replace the ungraded in premiere. But I can't reconnect them.
