Editing clips at home on a NAS from work. I create proxies with them, attach, and then i disconnect from the NAS. Usually, when editing at work, I replace the clips with After Effects compositions often and edit on AE. I go back and forth.
Question is wiIl replacing the proxies with After Effects compositions work, or do I have to do it another way somehow?

Replace with After Effects Composition preserves the proxy link. Use the per-clip proxy toggle in After Effects to switch between proxy and full-resolution media. Premiere Pro's Proxy button in the Program Monitor no longer applies once a clip is an After Effects composition.
You don't need to recreate proxies in After Effects. Just disable them before your final export, otherwise Premiere Pro will export the proxy media instead of the originals.
