Request: Fix mask feather on sequence edge - Linear Compositing = Off does not fix!

Hi There, this has been an issue for many, many years and causes daily frustration sorry.

When a mask's feather goes past the sequence edge, the feather is incorrectly added to the sequence edge. See attached, the mask's feather is past the sequence edge but when this happens, Premiere uses the sequence edge to start the feather.

Also, turning-off Linear Compositing (the supposed fix) makes it less noticeable but it's still a problem...

If this is user error, any help would be much appreciated. But if it isn't, could this just get acknowledged and fixed? No need for upvotes and design by committee etc.

• Premiere Pro 23.5 but has been an issue for at least 5 or 6 years
• M2 Pro + Mac OS 13.4.1 but has been an issue for at least 5 or 6 years (Intel Macs etc)

Reproduce

• Mask a video layer and add feather
• Extend mask beyond the sequence edge
• Expected result: feather to start at the dotted blue feather line
• Actual result: feather starts at the sequence edge
