Resetting recent projects screen

When I open Proj Pro I get the normal 'recent projects' screen. If I press Escape that screen goes and I get a blank black screen. So how can I get that screen back again without restarting the app?

I get the same behavior if I turn off my 2nd monitor.

 

The very 2nd preference is "When Opening a Project:" if you have it set at "Show Home" when you click File/Open Project you get taken to the home screen. Otherwise File/New/Project takes you to the new project screen, if you Exit from there, you are back at the Home screen. These are just found by poking around... hopefully you did some poking too.

I have 2 monitors and they are virtually always on - but your advice about preferences works! Many many thanks!

    Well, you should have the menu and not a pure black screen. In this case you can chose from the FILE menu, new/open project/production, etc...

    I promise you that if you press 'escape' in the 'recent projects' screen, the 'recent projects' disappear.  Try it. In Photoshop, pressing 'escape' also removes the 'recent files' screen but you can get it back by clicking the Home button. I am looking for the same facility in Premier Pro.

    That is odd.

     

    In version 23.4 (and I believe others), if I am in the Home screen (with the recent projects list) and click the escape key, I go to the Edit mode/screens. I do not get a blank screen. And the Home icon (the little house) is there to go back to the Home screen.

     

    Do you have multiple monitors? No clue what might cause this.
