Question

Right-click is hit or miss in PP and AE

This is one of those things where I think, Is it me?

I've noticed over months, if not years, that I often have trouble right-clicking in PP and also in AE. Sometimes it works, sometimes it takes one or two clicks to get a contextual menu to show. I find myself pressing very hard to ensure the click registers.

When I'm using a mouse, it's a Logitech Master 3S. I don't have issues right-clicking in any other apps, just these two. I don't think I've noticed it in ID or Illustrator, although TBH I don't right-click much in ID and I'm usually on a tablet in Illustrator.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Mac OS 15.7.2, PP25.6.3, AE25.6.0

Hi George,

Thanks for the message. I have heard of a few cases like this. How is the original mouse working? What kind of Mac are you running? Any other system info you can share? Are you running multiple monitors? I hope we can help you fix this. Sorry for the issue. Sounds frustrating.

Thanks,
Kevin

It's a MacBook Pro (14", 2023), so there is no original mouse, and I use it closed, so I can't easily test the trackpad. I run it with two external monitors. It's good to know that I'm not the only one, but I imagine finding a reason is going to be very hard.

Hmm. You don't have any other mouse you can test with? I'm also curious if you contacted Logitec support. Perhaps a software or firmware update might be needed. I'll ask around. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin

I've never had this with either of my desktops or laptops ... so that's just a bizarre thing, and would be painfully annoying!

I'm using an old Wacom Intuos 3 pen tablet, a  four-padddle-button trackball unit in place of a mouse, and now also a little Microsoft mouse at times on my desktop, no issues. On my laptop, a small fold-up mouse, but again, no issues.

So I'm wondering if there's a setting on your system that could be altered to fix this?
