Question

rotate vertical videos before they come into sequence (without getting black bars on the sidE)

I shot a bunch of vertical videos in 6k

They came in vertically automatically.

I had to interpret the footage, and it made them all horizontal.  I manually changed the EFFECTS and rotated them back, but now I have the black bars on the sides of the video, and I have to resize the video.

Has ADOBE seriously not updated the system to automatically encode (interpreted) videos in VERTICAL mode to STAY IN VERTICAL?

There are all these other solutions like dropping them all in the timeline, but it just creates more time and an unwanted workaround to edit.

ADOBE, can you create and fix this? Let us work in Vertical nativelly. (even when i switch to VERTICAL editing mode, it still does not work.

What changes are you making with Interpret Footage?
