Running Imac in Target Mode - can't monitor premiere full screen

Hello, I am using adobe Premiere Pro on an imac pro running 10.14 and using a second imac as a second monitor using target display mode. I want my second monitor (the imac in target display mode) to playback in fullscreen while my imac pro has the timeline and premiere interface. I tried going to playback preferences and see both monitors there but it does not work when I select it.

I recommend using a proper I/O device, something like the AJA Kona or Blackmagic Intensity.  Don't use your GPU for external display as it leaves the OS and GPU driver in the signal path, whereas a proper external monitor setup requires you to remove those variables.
