I tried to uncheck the star.  Did not work.

They will not be selected, but will appear ... until you 'star' favorite something else.

Of course, most of us don't use that project import process anyway.

Name/Location, click "Create".

Import as before from the Project or MediaBrowser panels.

I clicked on the stars.  The sample files still appear.

You need to uncheck the star.

Simple.

In the upper left corner, see the Favorites section, with the starred items? Click the stars to un-favorite them.

And of course you can skip the import via this page easily. Type a project Name, select a Location, make sure nothing is selected in the middle section of media nor any options on the upper right blue (selected/active).

Now click Create, you get a blank new project as before. And you can import folders as bins either through the Project panel/Import option or the MediaBrowser panel.

Make a different location your favorite.
